Awareness workshop held in Sherpur

Awareness workshop on teaching dropout and non-admipicture hildren in Sherpur, Bogra was held on Thursday (January 26) at the Upazila Parishad meeting room.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Liaquat Ali Sekh presided over the workshop organized by ‘Gram Bikash Sangstha’ in collaboration with the Non-Formal Education Bureau.  AHM Rabiul Karim, Assistant Director, Bogra District Non-Formal Education Bureau, Shahjamal Siraji, Vice Chairman, Sherpur Upazila Parishad, Nur Nabi Sarkar, Senior Program Manager, Village Development Organization, Khorshed Alam, Assistant Program Manager and Saju, Local Manager of the organization spoke on the occasion.

Under the Primary Education Development Project of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, this program is being implemented to provide school-going education to the children who have fallen and are not admitted.  It was informed at the workshop that the aim of the program is to give a second chance to children between the ages of eight and fourteen to get primary education and to bring them into the mainstream of formal education.
