At least a truck driver was killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two trucks on the Dhaka-Bogura highway under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district on Sunday.
The identity of deceased has yet to identify but he is a truck driver. The injured were identified as Shariful Islam, 50, son of Toyej Uddin of Ashekpur village in Natore district. The identity of another was not ensured till writing report.
The accident took place in front of Alal Polutry in Rajapur area of Mirzapur Union while the driver of the truck carrying stones fell asleep due to thick fog on the one hand and driving with the helper on the other
Locals said that a Dhaka bound truck loaded with fertilizer (Dhaka Metro T-180567) and a truck loaded with stones (Chittagong Metro T-11-5187) collided head-on when they reached Rajapur area.
Fire Service Civil Defense Ratan Hossain said the injured were rushed to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and dead body was handed over to the police. With the immediate initiative of police the traffic was normal for transporting.
