Arifur Rahman Mondal becomes newly appointed SP of Sirajgonj

Arifur Rahman Mondal BPM (bar), PPM (bar) has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Sirajgonj district by an office order of the Ministry of Home of the Government of Bangladesh yesterday.

He is 25th BCS (Police) cadre who served as Probationary ASP in Thakurgaon district, ASP (Sadar and A Circle) and Additional SP (East) in Bogura district and Addl. SP of PBI, Rangpur. Finally, he was promoted as SP in 2019 while he was serving in Bogura district police.

Later he was transferred to Police Quarter as AIG (UN Affairs and Development) and on Wednesday, he was appointed as the SP of Sirajgonj district.

He served in the UN mission in East Timur and Sudan as the peacekeeper. He achieved prestigious BPM award two times and PPM award two times in the four subsequent year from 2017 to 2020 and he is the only police officer in the police department who achieved such awards in the subsequent four years for his outstanding activities against militancy around moving in the 50 districts of the country.

He is a parent of one daughter and one son and his better half Nayer Sultana is serving as Education Officer in Kalai upazila in Joypurhat district. He is an inhabitant of Chokchokia village under Shaghata upazila in Gaibandha district and studied in the department of English under Govt. Azizul Haque College, Bogura.
