Snatchers killed a cattle trader in Mithapukur

In Rangpur, a group of miscreants killed a cattle trader by crushing a microbus and fled. One person injured in the incident has been admitted to Rangpur Medical College. Taka three and a half lakh  were lost from three traders in this incident.

The driver of the van, Saju Mia, who was seriously injured in the incident at around 8pm on Wednesday, said they were returning to their village Naleya in Nawabganj upazila of Dinajpur after selling cattle at Barbari Hat in Kurigram with some cattle traders.

A microbus stopped them at a place between Bairagiganj and Boldipukur in Mithapukur. 8/9 people get off the microbus and verify their identities and documents by identifying themselves as members of the law enforcement.

At that time, after snatching Tk 3.5 lakh from 3 people, the cattle traders tried to stop the microbus when they wanted to leave. But the miscreants crushed a cattle trader named Sadeq Badsha and pushed Saju and fled.

Other traders who were with him later rescued Badsha and Saju Mia with the help of local people and took them to Rangpur Medical College.

The doctor on duty, Mridul Roy, in the emergency department declared Badshah dead. He said Badshah died before he could be brought to the hospital.

Rangpur Superintendent of Police Biplob Kumar Sarkar confirmed the incident. He said the police went to the spot after receiving the news. Necessary activities have already started to catch the miscreants.

He said he was taking the incident seriously.
