Flood affected people passing hard time losing houses, cropland in Bogura

Good number flood affected people of Sariakandi, Sonatola, Dhunot and Shajahanpu upazilas are passing hard time wth their family members.

They are seeking relief materials as they have lost their houses and cropland for prolong flood in the area. Every year, they are to pay suffering with untold woe.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Bogura unit has distributed relief items among 1,200 families affected by the recent floods in Sariakandi.

At 10 am on Friday, 8 kg of rice, 1 kg of pulses, 1 liter of oil, 1 kg of salt, 1 kg of sugar and 500 grams of semolina were distributed to each family at the Sariakandi Pilot Girls High School ground.

Sahadara Mannan, Member of Parliament for Bogura-1 constituency was present as the chief guest at the distribution of relief items. Upazila Awami League vice president Mamtazur Rahman and joint general secretary Matiur Rahman Moti were present as special guests. Secretary of Bogura Red Crescent Unit AKM Surutzaman presided over the function.

Vice Chairman of Bogura Red Crescent Unit Advocate Maqbool Hossain Mukul, Executive Member Eliza Yasmin Keya, Ali Ikhtiyar Talukder Taju, Abu Obaid Md. Baki, Unit Level Officer Mirza Shamim Ahsan, Head of Youth Red Crescent Youth Asg Bogura Youth and volunteers including Rahman were present.
