Pabna General Hospital Assistant Director (AD )Dr. Omar Farooq Meer has been declared unwanted by the medical staff for alleged mismanagement, corruption, irregularities and physical abuse of a doctor.
On Sunday at around 8am in the morning, the medical officers of the hospital started protesting.
At around 8.30am, Omar Farooq Meer, the assistant director of the hospital, was prevented from entering his room by medical officers. During this time, the assistant director clashed with the protesters. At one point, protesters declared the assistant director unwanted at the hospital.
The protesters complained that the administrative work of the hospital has been going on through various irregularities and mismanagement since the assistant director joined the hospital.
Recently, some terrorists physically assaulted Dr. Kamruzzaman Nayan, a nose, ear and throat specialist of Pabna General Hospital in Tebunia Bazar area of Pabna sadar upazila. The matter was reported to the director of the hospital but he did not take any action.
In this regard, AD of the hospital Omar Farooq Meer told reporters, “Some officials and employees of the hospital are involved in various irregularities in the hospital.” I took action against them. In that anger they started a movement against me. I was not allowed to enter the office. I was physically assaulted when I entered. ‘
Manisar Chowdhury, Pabna Civil Surgeon said, ‘I have heard the matter. An incident took place between the assistant director and the doctors, officers and employees at the hospital. The matter has been reported to the departmental director. He will take action in this regard, the official said.
