The body of missing farmer Khaleq Khan was found dead in the river after 5 day missing in Pabna. The body was recovered from the Chowkibari area of Ichhamati River in Atgharia upazila around 4:30 pm on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Khalek Khan,48, son of Shamsuddin Khan of Hazirhat- Balrampur in Pabna Sadar upazila.
Siddiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Atgharia police station, confirmed the incident. However, it is being speculated that he may be killed by suffocation. ” The body was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The OC said, Khaleq Khan had been living in Kuwait for long days. He came to the country and worked in agriculture.
Meanwhile, relatives held a press conference at the Pabna Press Club on Tuesday noon to unravel the mystery of his disappearance. Earlier, a GD was lodged with Pabna Sadar Police Station on July 18, regarding Khaleq’s disappearance.
It was said at the press conference on Tuesday noon, Khaleq’s getting a mobile phone from ex-wife Umme Kulsum Bina’s and left the house to fetch her young child from his ex-wife on July 17. Although, five days long had passed, Khaleq did not return home.
If he could not be found anywhere, the cooperation of the police was sought in this regard. It is alleged that the relatives did not receive any satisfactory assistance from the police.
The family alleges that Umme Kulsum Bina, the first divorced wife of the missing Khaleq, and her current husband, Md. Shahidul Islam Asif, deliberately called Khaleq to death or disappeared.
However, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station Nasim Ahmed said that the police have been working to rescue the missing Khaleq since the complaint was lodged. The missing Khaleq was finally found. But not alive; he was found dead in the river.
