Due to classroom crisis two classes at Unahat Shinra Government Primary School (USGPS) are run in a room with hanging curtains under Dupchanchia upazila in Bogura for a long time. And the sound learning environment is being disrupted.
Besides, the present building is under threat as there is a huge water body adjacent to the school. Due to the effect of the water wave of the pond, the school grounds are constantly breaking and rushing towards the school.
Tofazzal, an educationist in the area, is seeking the immediate intervention of the master authorities to expedite the installation of a guide wall to protect the school building from threats.
Despite being the center of final examination for primary education, there is no washbasin here, so there is boundless misery. Although this grade A school was established in 1930, it is still facing some obstacles in the infrastructure crisis.
It is learned that more than two hundred students of Unahat Singra Government Primary School are teaching in 4 classrooms. But to ensure a real learning environment, 6 classrooms are needed. Therefore, the school authorities have been forced to hang curtains in the same room for a long time due to lack of classroom space.
Abdullah, a 4th class student, said that due to the crisis in the classroom, we are having difficulty in studying. When two classes sit in the same room with curtains hanging, both students and teachers are embarrassed.
The headmaster of the school Abdar Rashid said that he has informed the higher authorities about the crisis in the classroom in writing. If the new building is constructed soon, the students and teachers will be benefited simultaneously.
Upazila Education Officer Sharif Ahmed said, “We have informed about the matter, the misery of the school authority would be reduced soon by making new building.
Executive Engineer of Local Government of Engineering Department Golam Morshed said necessary steps would be taken to construct new buildings in priority basis to reduce classroom crisis.
