A gang has taken lakhs of money from the common people in the name of giving jobs at Pabna’s Ishwardi Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.

Based on the allegations, members of the army launched an investigation and arrested an official of the human resources department of the project contractor Energospec Montage Company and handed him over to the police.

Arrestee Sajeeb Khan was the head and manager of the human resources department of the organisation and son of Junaid Khan of Bholahat area of ​​Narsingdi district. He was arrested from the Rooppur nuclear power plant project on Tuesday.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Atiqul Islam, in-charge of the Rooppur nuclear outpost, said that after being deceived by this officer, some unemployed job seekers complained to the army members engaged in the security of Rooppur nuclear power project.

In the light of that allegation, army personnel found the initial truth of the allegation. He was later arrested and handed over to Rooppur police outpost.

It is also learned that some Bangladeshi workers working in Energospec Montaz Company worked for Sajib Khan at the initial stage. Whose responsibility is to recruit job seekers and show the temptation of job in the Rooppur nuclear power project.

They collect CVs, photocopies of educational qualifications, birth certificates, citizenship certificates and passport size photographs from the candidates. 5-6 victims said that the arrested officer was cheating in the name of giving jobs in an organised manner. This month, he has taken large sums of money from about 30-40 people.

One of the victims, Limon, said it was “tragic” that Corona had suffered at the moment of the disaster by taking advantage of unemployment. He demanded that the law enforcement agencies investigate and take action.

Asaduzzam Asad, offficer-in-charge of Ishwardi police station on Tuesday night said Sajib has been handed over to us. Cheating case is being filed against him.
