Dhaka University teacher Hafiza Khatun has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) for four years.

She is the first woman vice chancellor in PUST. Hafiza Khatun, the new Vice Chancellor of PUST, is a professor in the Department of Geography and Environment at Dhaka University. She was appointed to the post on Tuesday through a circular signed by the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education.

Former Vice Chancellor of Pabna University of Science and Technology PUST M Rostam Ali’s term ended on March 6 this month. However, she left the campus a week before the allegations surfaced.

Due to the long absence of the Vice-Chancellor, there was an extreme problem in the university. Complications also arise with the March salaries of the teachers-officers and employees of the educational institution. In this situation, the university got a new vice chancellor.

One day before. Khairul Alam was given the responsibility of vice chancellor of this university to do routine work. PUST got the Vice-Chancellor the very next day.
