Allegation of constructing houses by occupying government road in Sherpur

It has been alleged that Enamul Haque Rana, a member of Ward 6 of Magurartair village of Khamarkandi union under Sherpur upazila of Bogrua district, is contesting as a member candidate in the  (November 11) Union Parishad Election.It is learnt that he is building a house on an officially mapped road out of anger and he thinks it has happened because of the opposition of his uncles.
Hundreds of families have been suffering  from this ongoing building a Building.
Locals have complained that despite seeking the intervention of important ministries and local administrations of the country including the Prime Minister’s Ministry, no remedy has been found yet.
 It was seen on the spot that the government road had passed by the house of Abdul Hamid of Magurartair village of the upazila.The road is about 10 feet 26 feet wide.
 People of the area used to come and go to Sherpur City, Educational  Institutions, Haat and Bazaar along this road.Besides, the farmers of the area could easily transport their crops from the land using the government road.
 Meanwhile, due to illegal occupation, all traffic on the road has been stopped.Even now it is difficult to walk on the road.  Written complaint has been sent to the office of Honourable Prime Minister,Ministry of Home, Bridges and Communications, Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, ADC Revenue, District Superintendent of Police, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Officer in Change of Sherpur Police  Station
In this regard, Md. Enamul Haque Rana said,” I did not build houses on the government road. That road is not officially recorded”.
Sherpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Moinul Islam said, “After receiving the complaint letter, I have instructed the concerned officer to issue specific notice. After the hearing, action will be taken as per rules.”
