An old man Hafizar Rahman (75) who was infected with dengue fever died in Bogura on Tuesday. He died while undergoing treatment at Muhammad Ali Hospital. Deceased is identified Hafizar Rahman at Kumira village of Nandigram upazila.
Resident doctor of Mohammad Ali hospital Dr. Shafiq Amin Kajal said that Hafizar Rahman had fever last Wednesday. He was admitted to a private clinic in the town on Saturday. There, he was diagnosed with dengue.
He was admitted to the hospital from that clinic at 2 pm on Monday. He had high blood pressure. Dead Hafizar’s body had imbalance of sodium and potassium. He died on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment.
Dr. Kajol also said that Hafizar Rahman’s grandson studies in a school in Dhaka. He comes home with fever during Eid holidays. It is believed that Hafizar got infected from there.
It is known that currently three dengue patients are under treatment in Bogura. Among them, two has been admitted in Mohammad Ali Hospital and one in Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZRMC) Hospital. Apart from this, 31 dengue patients have been cured so far in Bogura district.
