A day-long seminar held in Joypurhat

A day-long seminar on the role of students, media workers and civilized society in countering extremism was held in Joypurhat on the project of Police Counter-Terrorism and International Crime Prevention Centre.

Additional Superintendent of Police Mamun Khan Chishti presided over the seminar organized by the district police at the drill shed of Police Line on Sunday morning. Superintendent of Police Mohammad Noore Alam spoke as the chief guest on the occasion.

Saiful Islam, Principal of Jaipurhat Government College, Golam Haqqani, Community Police Convener, Shammi Aziz Saj, District Women Awami League President, Sabina Chowdhury, General Secretary spoke as special guests.

Assistant Superintendent of Police of Counter Terrorism Branch Saeed Nurullah presented a practical article on what to do to prevent militancy and extremism.

In the seminar, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Noore Alam said on behalf of the district police that prevention of terrorism and extremism is not possible only for the police alone, but the cooperation of all the society is needed.

He will continue to strive to eradicate extremism from the society with the coordination and cooperation of people from all walks of life. This seminar will be held daily in two shifts for three consecutive days with people from different professions.
