Bangladesh Arts Olympiad 2024 ends, Pabna’s Sreemayee awarded the first prize

Bangladesh Arts Olympiad 2024 concluded on Saturday with a two-day long exhibition which organised by Super Kids Initiatives, the Olympiad is the Bangladesh chapter of the 7th Arts Olympiad scheduled to be held in the United States in June 2025.

Srimayee Basak, a class VI student of Pabna Central High School, stood first Award her art depicts a vivid scene of a football match where the Bangladesh women’s football team seen playing against India. The exhibition was held at Avinta Gallery of Fine Arts, North Badda in Dhaka on Friday and Saturday.

It showcased the top 50 arts selected from around 700 at the closing ceremony of submissions, five artists are announced as winners who will be represented Bangladesh on the world stage. The international programme organised by Washington-based International Child Art Foundation.

A distinguished panel of judges will select the global winners, who will be invited as ‘officials’ delegates represent their school community.

“We are glad that we have closed the long process of competition, selection and exhibition. Our winners will represent Bangladesh at the main event in 2025. It’s very exciting. I wish them good luck!”, said Tanzil Hasan, Founder and CEO of Super Kids Initiatives.

The theme of this year’s Olympiad was ‘My favorite sport or the sport of Bangladesh’. Children between the ages of 8 and 12 were eligible for initial submission.

Md Hamim-uz-Zaman of Bogura came second for his art in neighborhood cricket. Dhaka’s Parthana Mandal won the third prize for the lively art of boat racing. Arisha of Dinajpur Hossain while Ahnaf Ohi Tajdid of Dhaka came fourth and fifth.
