A 60-year-old man was died due to heat stroke in the intense heat in Pabna town on Saturday noon.
The deceased was identified as Sukumar Das,62, a resident of Zakir Mor of Shalgaria in the town.
The highest temperature of the season was recorded in Pabna on this day at 41.6 degrees Celsius.
Ishwardi Meteorological Office observer Nazmul Haque Ranjan said that the temperature of 41.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Ishwardi on Saturday; which is the highest temperature in the current season in Pabna district.
Sukumar Das suffered heat stroke while having tea at a tea shop on the Rupkatha Road in Pabna Town on Saturday nonon. At that time, locals took him to the Pabna General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Resident Medical Officer of Pabna General Hospital doctor Zahidul Islam confirmed the death matter.
He said that the person died of heat stroke. He was brought dead to the hospital from Pabna town. We could not treat him. After knowing the name and identities, the relatives came. The body hand over to them.
He also said that heat should be avoided as far as possible to avoid heat stroke. Eat more liquid food. Wear thin clothes. Diabetes and blood pressure patients should not go in the sun. Proceed with caution.
Nazmul Haque Ranjan, observer of Ishwardi Meteorological Office, again said that the temperature has been recorded above 40 degrees Celsius in Pabna for a few days. The temperature on Saturday was recorded at 41.6 degrees Celsius.
In intense heat, the condition of people panting. Working people are suffering the most in this intense heat wave. Hardworking people have to work in the hot sun to earn a living.
