A Pabna court on Tuesday sent the arrested husband to jail after her wife filed a case against him for raping a 14-year-old disabled girl.

Earlier, the police arrested him shortly after filing the case at Ishwardi police station on Monday evening.

According to the statement of the case, the mentally challenged girl was living in her maternal grandfather’s house in Jayanagar village after her father’s death. She was alone in her room on Monday afternoon.At this time, Surjo Mridha entered the house, grabbed the girl’s face and raped her by force.

On receiving the information, Superintendent of Police Akbar Ali Munshi immediately visited the spot.

When the girl told the matter to Surjo Mridha’s wife, she initially tried to keep it a secret for fear of honor.Later told the family members in the pursuit of conscience.But as no one played any role, she herself went to the police station and filed a written complaint asking for her husband’s punishment.
