One head teacher was committed suicide by hanging himself in his house at Rajarhatupazila in Kurigram district in the morning on Monday (February 19).

He was immediately taken to Upazila health complex after the incident where the attending doctor declared him dead.

The deceased was identified as Provat Chandra Barman 50 son of late Bishad Chandra Barman of village Somnarayan under Nazimkhan union of Rajarhatupazila. He was a head teacher of Simultala high school and president of Bangladesh SamajtantrikDal (Basad) of Rajarhatupazila unit.

Local sources said he had many loans and he became frustrated in pressure by the money lenders.He erupted quarrels with his family members following the incident. He might has been committed suicide in the matter, locals opined.

Officer-in-charge of Rajarhat police station Mostafizur Rahman said we recovered the body and sent it to KurigramSadar hospital morgue for autopsy.

Additional superintendent of police (media) Ruhul Amin ensured the incident and said it suspected that it is a suicide case. We shall take the lawful action after investigation.
