Personal Assistant (PA) of Rajshahi Medical University (RMU) Vice-Chancellor Ismail Hossain has been suspended for allegedly forging a certificate. Besides, the RMU Syndicate has formed a three-member committee to investigate this incident.
A letter regarding this has been sent to the concerned office last Sunday. This decision was taken in the 13th meeting of the Syndicate of Ramevir. The matter was confirmed by the registrar of RMU Anwarul Kader.
Before this, Ramebi’s vice-chancellor formed a committee to investigate Ismail Hossain’s fake certificate without the approval of the syndicate committee. The committee submitted a report in favor of Ismail. Ismail Hossain gave the certificate of Stamford University while accepting the job. The matter of his certificate forgery was published in the media.
Ramebir Registrar Professor Dr. Anwarul Quader said that according to the decision of the 13th Syndicate meeting of the university, a committee has been formed to thoroughly investigate the appointment of Ismail Hossain. He will remain suspended from service until the investigation process continues. He was suspended from his job on August 20. During the period of suspension, he will get subsistence allowance as per rules.
Meanwhile, an investigation committee consisting of three members of the Ramebi syndicate was formed in the incident. The members of the committee are University Grants Commission (UGC) member Prof. Dr. Biswajit Chand, Joint-Secretary of Health Department Mallika Khatun and Principal of Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEC) Dr. Md Naushad Ali. The inquiry committee has been asked to submit a report with recommendations within the next one month.
