A farmer’s dead body found in safety tank two days after going missing in Pabna. Police recovered the body of the farmer from a safety tank of Khairul Islam in front of Dari Srikol Government Primary School in Dari Srikol village of Sadullapur Union on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Quddus,50, son of son of Shirhab Pramanik of Dari Srikol village of Sadullapur Union.He worked as a farmer. Farmer Quddus went missing on his way home from a local tea shop on Tuesday at around 9.00 pm on Tuesday.

According to police and family sources, farmer Quddus went missing on his way home from a local tea shop around 9 pm on Tuesday.As he did not return home at night, no trace was found even after searching in various places.

In this regard, on behalf of family, a general diary of a missing person was filed with Ataikula police station. The next morning, sandals, towels and a rope were found in front of the missing Quddus’ house.The matter was reported to Dublia police outpost.

After a long search, the police recovered the half-decomposed body from the safety tank on Thursday morning. The hands and feet of the deceased were tied with ropes. The body has been sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for post-mortem.

Shariful Islam, son of the deceased, said, “My father was an innocent person.”He was assassinated due to prior enmity. I believe that Josna and her husband Sayam, near to the house, may have killed my father by twisting a towel and tying him with a rope at night.He demanded that the killers be immediately arrested and brought under the law.

Former chairman of Sadullapur Union Parishad, Abdul Quddus Munsi said, Quddus had no dispute with anyone.We demand immediate arrest and punishment of the murderers.

Dublia police outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Abul Kalam said that after the disappearance, the body was found on the family’s GD light and the body was recovered from the safety tank of one Khairul Islam’s house and sent to the hospital for post-mortem.A written complaint from the family will be taken legal action.

Additional Superintendent of police Masud Alam said that it is still not possible to say how the murder took place.The matter can be said after the autopsy.The mystery will soon be revealed.A suspicious couple named Josna and Sayam have been detained for questioning in this incident.
