Bengali film legend Suchitra Sen’s 92nd birthday was celebrated in Pabna with tributes, discussions and colorful cultural programs on Thursday.

In the morning, organised by the district administration, the day’s programme began with floral tributes to the heroine’s sculpture at Suchitra Sen’s ancestral home on Hemsagar Lane in the town.

Locals have demanded that a full-fledged film institute and a modern museum be built in the house, but the process is stuck in bureaucratic complications. They wanted the government to intervene quickly in this regard.

At the end of the discussion, local artistes performed songs and dances from Suchitra Sen’s films in a cultural program.
