Brisk preparations are afoot to observe the 103rd birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day-2023 in the city as elsewhere in the district .
Chattogram District Administration along with Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), different government and semi-governmental institutions, different political parties and socio-cultural organizations have chalked out various colourful programmes to mark the day.
The programmes includes children rally, placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, cultural function, discussion, drawing competition and poetry recitation.
On the occasion, Chattogram District Administration will organize day-long programmes at District Shilpakola Academy and Shisu Academy.
Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Abul Basar Mohammad Fakuruzzaman and leaders of different cultural organisations will place wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Shilpakola Academy.
A children and adolescent rally is scheduled to be brought out from the circuit house premises at 9 am tomorrow. Later, a discussion will be held at Shilpokila Academy premises at 10 am tomorrow with DC Chattogram in the chair.
Divisional Commissioner Dr Md Aminur Rahman will attended the function as chief guest while Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Chittagang Range Anwar Hossain, Commissioner of Chittagang Metropolitan Police (CMP) Krisha Pada Roy, Superintendent of district police SM Sofiullah among others will address the function.
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) will also organize various programme at Shahid Shahjahan field at city’s Ambagan tomorrow.
Chatogram City Corporation will organize various colorful programs including placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu , discussion, free health camp and cultural function to celebrate the 103rd birth centenary of Bangabandhu.
Chattogram city unit of Awami League (AL) will also organize a children and adolescent rally at city’s Sheristala of CRB hill tomorrow morning. Chattogram city AL will pay tributes to the architect of the nation by placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at city’s Darul Fazal Market party office.
Chattogram north and south units of AL will also arrange separate children rallies, Khatma Quran and discussions on the occasion. Apart from it, separate discussions will also be held at all educational institutions in the city and district under the auspices of respective authorities.
District Shishu Academy will organize drawing competition, poetry recitation and cultural functions for the children throughout the day.
Marking the day, Bangladesh Chhatra League at all educational institutions in the city including Chattogram University, Chattogram Medical College, Chattogram University of Engineering Technology (CUET), University of Science and Technology in Chattogram and Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will also hold discussions on the life and works of Bangabandhu.
