A fake Magistrate was nabbed during a searching of passenger vehicles at upazila CO office bus stand area under Dupchanchia upazila in Bogura on Sunday night.

The arrested is identified as Sanjay Chandra Sheel son of Sukumar Debnath of Badiyakhali village of Gaibandha Sadar police station.

At the same time the police arrested his accomplice Shri Shayan Kumar Sheel son of Santosh Kumar Sheel of Telihata village of Gabtali upazila in Bogura.

In this regard, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Najran Rauf said in a press briefing at the police station on Monday that Ajay was arrested from the CO office bus stand area. Ajay Debnath alias Sanjay Debnath is identified himself as the Executive Magistrate (Drug and Tobacco Control Cell).

The traffic police asked to the arrestee and he had doubts in his mind. When he reported to the police station, the in-charge police officer SI Mosaddek appeared there and interrogated them. Ajay Debnath then took out his visiting card. When the police got suspicious after seeing the card, he was arrested and taken to the police station immediately.

SI Mosaddek filed a case at the police station as a plaintiff. On Monday, the police sent the arrested accused to the Bogura court with a five-day remand application.
