One house wife was drowned while she went to the Dharla River to take a bath at noon on Thursday (February 23).

The deceased was identified as Khodeza Begum 27 wife of day laborer Saiful Islam of village char Krishnapur under Mogolbacha union in Kurigramsadarupazila.She is the mother of two sons.

Chairman of Mogolbacha union council Mahfuzar Rahman ensured the incident.

Locals and family sources said Khodeza Begum along with her two sons went to the Dharla River to take a bath. She went to deep water leaving her two sons by the side of the river and was drowned. Her two sons were weeping as they could not see their mother in the river.

Hearing the news locals were searching her in the river with nets. At last after one hour of frantic efforts they recovered the body by their net about 100 yards far from the bathing spot.

Officer-in-charge of KurigramSadar police station Khan Mohammad Shahrear told that the news was unknown to me as no one was informed me about the incident.
