Indian Assistant High Commission conducted cleanliness drive in Rajshahi

Indian Assistant High Commission has conducted cleanliness drive in Rajshahi. On Saturday at around 11 am, a clean program is being carried out from Padma Library in Talaimari to Alupatti in Rajshahi metropolis.

Manoj Kumar, the Indian Assistant High Commissioner posted in Rajshahi, personally participated in the cleanliness drive. He cleans the various garbage lying on the road with his own hands and puts it in a dustbin from the road.

Assistant High Commissioner Manoj Kumar said that every year January 14th is celebrated as national cleanliness day in India, the friend of Bangladesh. As part of this, symbolic ceremonies are also celebrated in the offices of the Indian High Commission and Assistant High Commissions of all countries of the world on the occasion of the day. He said that this event is being held in Rajshahi yesterday.

Note that India-wide Transparency Fortnight is observed for fifteen days from 1st January to 15th January in Indian offices all over the world. The Swachhta Abhiyan was first implemented in 2014 on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the campaign on 2 October 2014 at Rajghat in New Delhi.

Students of Islami Bank Medical College Hospital and Barind Medical College Hospital participated in the cleanliness drive.
