Police arrested 10 people including thieves in Sariakandi.  Police conducted raids in various areas and arrested them last Thursday night.

According to  police sources, a few days ago thieves stole a bag of money with a mobile phone from Setu Variety Store in Sariakandi Sadar. Police arrested Aminul Islam Nirab, son of deceased Rahim Molla of Upazila Majhbari village and Majnu Akand, son of Hazrat Ali of Phulbari Nayapara village, for their involvement in the theft.

Stolen money, bag, mobile phone and recharge card in their custody and 1 auto van used for theft were recovered. Also, the police under the leadership of ASI Jane Alam set up a check post at Kuptala Tin Matha junction and recovered 4 irrigation pumps and 1 stolen motor vehicle and 1 CNG carrying stolen goods.

Sahidul Islam alias Naju son of Hachen Ali of Ganakpara village, Tamim Iqbal son of Jannatul Ferdous alias Pintu and Ekram Hossain alias Jewel son of deceased Abdul Aziz of Narchi Neurgaza village were arrested for their involvement in the theft. Also, Swadhin Miat, son of Jahar Ali of Neurgacha village with Burmese knife and Johnny Mia, son of Abdus Samad of Narchi Paschim Para, with drugs, and Sablu Mia, deceased of Dighalkandi village, Nasir district, Hindukandi village, Ranju Fakir alias Chika Pagla, son of deceased Taleb Pramanik, son of Baripara village. Nazlu alias Manas Kashai was arrested.

Officers along with the force managed to arrest 10 people including the thief by conducting raids in Sariakandi police station area. Along with this, a CNG and battery powered auto van carrying stolen goods and the stolen goods were recovered.

Rajesh Kumar Chakraborty, officer-in-charge of Sariakandi police station, said that the arrested persons were sent to the court on Friday afternoon. Police operations will continue to eradicate crime.
