A mobile court led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sabrina Sharmin has fined Tk 50,000 of a pipe factory under Sherpur upazila of Bogura.
The fine was imposed on Mamunur Rashid, the owner of the factory, for manufacturing and selling plastic pipes without the permission and quality standard certicate of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).
Sherpur upazila administration & BSTI jointly conducted this operation on Thursday afternoon in Muhid Plastic Company at the Mazzar gate area of Khandkarpara-Dhunat Moree intersection of Sherpur municipality.
According to the press release sent by BSTI Bogura, the fine was imposed as company was manufacturing and selling and distributing pipes illegally without BSTI certificate. For this, the institution was fined under the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institutions Act, 2018.
Sherpur Executive Magistrate & Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sabrina Sharmin imposed the fine. BSTI Bogura Assistant Director (Metrology Wing) Mizanur Rahman along with law enforcement officers were present in this operation that time.
