Pabna University of Science and Technology inaugurated poet Bande Ali Mia Muktamancha on its campus on Sunday.

The PUST vice-chancellor Professor Hafiza Khatun inaugurated the Muktamancha beside a lake situated on the PUST campus at a programme organised to celebrate the 14th founding anniversary of the university.

Among others Prof Dr. SM Mostafa Kamal of PUST, former treasurers Prof Anwar Khasru Parvez, first capital university vice-chancellor Prof Md. Hazrat Ali were also present in the programm.

Besides, a discussion programme, blood donation camp, tree plantation programme, cultural performances and others were held on the campus.

Independence Award-winning Dhaka University professor Haseen Khatun Khan was present as as chief guest at the programme witch was presided over by over by Professor Hafiza Khatu.

Hafiza Khatun, while speaking at the discussion, recited a poem of the poet and said, “No significant steps have been taken till date to preserve the legacy of poet Bande Ali Mia in  Pabna. We hope that our meager initiative would play a role in this regard.”
