Another freight truck pushed a rod-loaded truck parked under Sherpur upazila of Bogura from behind. As a result, A man named Alamgir Hossain (30) was killed in the incident. He is the helper of the standing truck driver.
The accident took place at Mahipur on the Dhaka-Bogura highway on Wednesday morning May 16,2022.
The deceased was identified as Alamgir Hossain, son of Mozammel Haque of Chandipur Nayapara village under Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur district.
According to the police and the relatives of the deceased, a truck (Dhaka Metro T-18-7959) loaded with rods from Dhaka was going to Dinajpur.On reaching Mohipur on the way, a rear wheel became inactive . Later, helper Alamgir Hossain was repairing the truck parked on the side of the highway.
At one stage another freight truck (Dhaka Metto T-18-7752) coming from the same direction hit the back of the standing truck. Helper Alamgir was killed on the spot.
Baniul Anam, in-charge of Sherpur Highway Police Camp said,”Two trucks involved in the accident have been seized. The driver of the truck, Sumon Mia, was also arrested.
He is the son of Shamser Ali of Milon Nagar village of Thakurgaon district.”
“The police official also said that a case has been filed in the police station in the incident.” he added.
