Railway police have recovered 10 pairs of Kasti stone idols weighing 6 kg 800 gms worth about Tk 10 crore from a travel bag at Santahar under Adamdighi upazila in Bogura.

The idol was recovered from a travel bag near Waktia Mosque on Platform No. 4 of Santahar Station in the upazila on Thursday afternoon.

Police said an ownerless travel bag was recovered from Santahar Junction Station on Thursday afternoon on a tip-off. During the search of the bag, 10 Kasti stone idols weighing 6 kg 600 g were recovered.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Santahar GRP Police Sakiul Azam said the estimated value of the stones was around Tk 10 crore. The seizure list is shown after the statue was recovered. However, the carrier or trader of the idol could not be identified.
