Limb of women recovered in Mithapukur

The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has recovered some body parts from the body of a young woman named Tanzina about 11 months after she was rescued from a pond in Adarshnagar area of ​​West Deobhog in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila.

The rescue operation was carried out on Thursday (February 25) from morning till afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Tanjina, daughter of Abdul Jalil of Chithli Dakshinpara village under Durgapur union of Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur district.
Russell, 29, Tanzina’s alleged husband, was arrested in the incident. He is the son of Habibur Rahman of Satventi Enayetpur village in Mithapukur Kafrikhal union of Rangpur.

Narayanganj PBI Sub-Inspector (SI) Shakil Hossain said Russell had dismembered Tanzina’s body and dumped it in a pond next to his house. He later told homeowner  Siraj Khan that his wife, Tanzina, had died of Corona at the hospital. He then left the house. Later, on April 5, 2021, the police recovered Tanzina’s headless body from the pond in front of Faria Garment in Baraibhog area of ​​Masdai. The police filed a case against the unidentified persons at Fatullah Model Police Station.

The PBI got the responsibility of investigating the case and started unraveling the mystery.
He further added that after the arrest of Russell from Rangpur, it was learned that the body had been dumped in a few pieces in the pond where the head was found. Today, parts of Tanzina’s body were found after being irrigated with the water from the sink. ‘

The PBI held a press conference after the rescue operation. There, Narayanganj PBI Superintendent of Police Monirul Islam said Tanzina had a love affair with Russell. Later they started living as husband and wife. But due to extramarital affairs, quarrels arose in their family. On March 29, 2021, Russell strangled Tanzina with a machete at home.

He further added that after the murder, Russell left the body in pieces and kept it in the fridge. On April 4, he packed them and dumped them in a nearby pond. After the incident, Russell left the house with the utensils and other items used in the murder.
