Human chain has been held under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district to demand for construction of underpass of forlane highway from Sirajganj to Rangpur under Sasek-2 project.
Around one and a half thousand people took part in the human chain on the highway at Seemabari Bogra Bazar area of Seemabari Union of the upazila around 10 pm on Thursday (January 27).
Seemabari Union Parishad Chairman Gourdas Roy Chowdhury, Awami League Leader Munshur Rahman Akand, Azizul Haque Majnu, Golam Rafiq, Sheikh Selim, Union Awami League President Abdul Mannan Khan, Acting General Secretary Ratan Basak, Abdul Latif Fakir, Chanchal Kundu,Juba League spoke on the occasion. Leaders Enazul Karib Talukder, Iqbal Hasan,UP member Dulalur Rahman, Mominul Islam Alal and others are also present in the meeting.
During the hour-long human chain, the speakers said that the construction work of underpass is going on in the Bogura market area of Seemabari of Moharak. We have already learned that there is a conspiracy to cancel this work. They claim that the underpass is very important as it is an industrial area. They warned that underpasses would have to be built there at any cost
