Akram Ali is the headmaster of Kshadra Shawla Government Primary School located in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi. He has been accused of beating her whenever she gets angry or when a teacher is involved in a scuffle with her.

A similar incident took place at Kshadra Shawla Government Primary School in the upazila on Sunday afternoon. Sayeda Islam, a female teacher of the school, has confessed to being beaten up after being involved in a scuffle with the headmaster.

Earlier in 2016, another female teacher of the school was beaten by the headmaster Akram. However, due to his arrogant behavior, no one could protest the incident against the headmaster. The teacher, who was seriously injured in the beating, has been admitted to a 31-bed hospital in Godagari. He is currently undergoing treatment.

Upazila Education Officer (Acting) Laila Taslima Nasrin said the matter was highly reprehensible. Following the allegations of female teachers, departmental action will be taken against headmaster Akram Ali. He is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Some eyewitnesses, who did not want to be named, said that Saida Islam, a school teacher, had an argument with Akram Ali, the headmaster of a small Shawla Government Primary School. At one stage, the headmaster Akram severely beat the female teacher. As a result, the teacher was seriously injured in different parts of the body including ears and hands.

Other teachers at the institution complained that he treated all the teachers so harshly because he was under the shadow of local politicians and no one protested his wrongdoing. However, because of his power, someone is afraid to open his mouth.

Meanwhile, teacher Sayeda Islam alleged that the headmaster was collecting money from each student for the certificate. Protesting against this injustice, the headmaster forbade Saida Islam to speak. When he protested against this, he got into a quarrel with the headmaster. At one stage, the headmaster beat him severely.

Meanwhile, Rajshahi District Primary Education Department official said. Abdus Salam said, I do not know this incident. However, if the Upazila Primary Education Office sends a complaint in this regard, I will definitely take strict departmental action in this regard. No concessions can be made for such heinous incidents.

When asked, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Godagari Model Police Station Kamrul Islam said, “I have heard about the incident.” However, no one has lodged a complaint in this regard so far. Necessary action will be taken in case of complaint.
