Advocacy & awareness programme held focusing EHVTCC in Bogura

Advocacy & awareness programme have been arranged at Asatunnessa Girl’s High School under Shajahanpur upazila in Bogura focusing on Education, Heath and Vocational Training & Climate Change (EHVTCC).

It is known that the school was founded in 1966 by Lutfar Rahman Sarkar, former governor of Bangladesh Bank to speed the light driving force out of darkness from the area. Since then, good numbers of students have been taught sincerely. At present more than three hundred students are studying on this school.

President of Zonta club Dhaka-2 and granddaughter of Asatunnessa Nilufar Rahman have taken such type of humanitarian initiatives during world wide corona pandemic. Nilufar Rahman said, “Three important aspects of managing the Covid 19 virus have been discussed here before the audience including students and teachers of the school.” “They emphasis on Hand washing with any soap for 20 seconds , Wearing masks at all times while outside home & among crowds and Maintaining social distancing which includes no hand shaking or hugging.” She added.

Discussion on Education included scholarships, learning soft skills & mentorships. While  speaking on Health & hygiene to these adolescent girls, the speakers focused on importance of daily exercise, involvement in both indoor & outdoor sports, how to manage menstrual health along with hygiene, importance of learning basic yoga, meditation and powerful breathing techniques from student life. They’ve discussed how important it is to get skilled trainings from the school life.

They also discussed how climate change has been impacting our lives, girls’ involvement as well as their contributions to handle climate change in a smarter way. After the discussion over 101 goodie bags with washing soaps, reusable Masks, Horlicks & masala noodles sponsored by Unilever have been distributed.

Later, an important meeting with Principal of Asatunnessa Girl’s High School Rezaul Jinnah has been hoisted when the members of the school committee were present. From LRS family the organiser has already donated a desk top computer for the school’s IT Lab.

Meanwhile, the organizer noted down few needful works to be done immediately for the teachers & students of this school.
