Pundra University of Science and Technology (PUB) Board of Trustees Advisor and TMSS Life Member Prof. Dr. M Afzal Hossain joined Dhaka as a UGC-Bangabandhu Fellow last Sunday.
Prominent agricultural scientist, education administrator and retired professor of Bangladesh Agricultural University. M. Afzal Hossain has joined UGC-Bangabandhu as a Fellow. He submitted his joining letter to the chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC). To commemorate the impeccable contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the country’s higher education, the Bangladesh University Grants Commission UGC-Bangabandhu Fellowship was introduced on the centenary of Bangabandhu’s birth. The jurisdiction of Arts and Humanities, Business, Education and Law, Social Sciences, Science and Technology is determined by issuing a notification in the national daily newspaper. Nine researchers from across the country applied for the fellowship. The committee formed by UGC verified and selected all the applications of the former professor of Bangladesh Agricultural University. M. Afzal Hossain was nominated for a Fellowship in the light of his research proposal titled ‘Exploring the Potential of Suicides for Promoting the Boo Economy of Bangladesh’.
Professor. M. Afzal Hossain is a graduate of Bangladesh Agricultural University and a retired senior professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biology. He served as the Vice Chancellor of Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology, Dinajpur with great success. He is currently an advisor to the Board of Trustees of Pundra University of Science and Technology, Bogra, a top private school in North Bengal, and a life member of TMSS.
