Alpana festival has begun on 10 km Gaibandha-
Shaghata Road from Gaibandha police lines to Bhanga Mour area today
amid much enthusiasm to the people of the district.
Public university students’ Association of Gaibandha (PUSAG)and the
students of public medical Colleges have jointly arranged the initiative to
draw the biggest alpana in the the country marking the Mujib Year,
officially termed as Mujib Barsho, the birth centenary of Father of the
nation and architect of independent Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman, concerned sources said.
To write down a record regarding the alpana in the Guinness book is one of
the objectives of the alpana festival, sources said.
President of the association Md. Jeem and general secretary AK Pramanik
Partha said the alpana drawing on the road would be finished within 24
hours.
In reply to a query, the said a s many as 1100 student in cooperation with a
number of professional alpana artists were taking part in the alpana
festival.
They also sought whole hearted cooperation of all to make the festival a
grad success.
The elite of the district highly lauded the initiative taken up by the PUSAG
and the students of Govt. medical colleges to create a record in the
Guinness book of the world.
