Massive Security Measures have been taken by the district administration ahead of the upcoming municipality election will be held on February 28 instant through Electoral Voting Machine (EVM) system.
The voters from the municipality areas have eagerly been waiting for the election to choose their Mayor and Councilours so that they can see the development of one of the biggest municipality of the country.
In the election, General Secretary of Bogura town unit Awami League Abu Obaidul Hasan Boby is fighting with Boat symbol, former President of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Bogura district unit and Editor of The Daily Bogura Rezaul Karim Badsha is fighting with bunches of Paddy, Abdul Motin from Bangladesh Islami Andolon is fighting with Hand Fan and Independent candidate Awami League and Tranport Leader Abdul Mannan Akanda is fighting with Jog symbol for the mayoral post of Bogura municipality.
Election office source said that around 1500 police personnel, 1500 Ansar and VDP members, and 13 platoons of BGB, and RAB forces will be deployed in the election and the forces will be supervised by the executive magistrates of the district administration.
Police source said that Bogura municipality having 21 words in 70 square kilometres and 2,75,870 voters will exercise their votes in 113 poll centres through EVM systems and out of 113 poll centres, 55 poll centres have been marked as the risky poll centres.
Additional security measures have been taken some risky poll centres in word number 8, 9, 13, 14, and 19 words during the election under Bogura Municipality, added the source.
Humayun Kabir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar police station of Bogura said that uninterrupted and four staged security measures have been taken in the election in each poll centre and one constable, one ASI, four constable will be deployed in each poll risky centre additionally and one SI and four constable, 8 male and 4 female Ansar and VDP members will be deployed in risk-free poll centre excluding mobile party in each word.
7 seven striking forces and 5 stand-by parties of police, RAB forces and 13 platoons of BGB personnel will be deployed in the poll centres to ensure all out security measures in the poll centre to hold the election smoothly, added the OC.
