The fire destroyed the godowns of two businesses and the party offices of the Upazila Juba Sramik League in Bogra’s Dhunat upazila. The incident took place at Aziz Plaza in Tulapatti area of ​​Dhunat town around 12 noon on Friday.

It is learned that Helal Uddin’s Usha Ananya Bastran Bitan and Shahjahan Ali’s Shifa Sayara Bastran Bitan have a cotton godown at Aziz Plaza in Tulapatti area of ​​Dhunat Bazar. The fire started from the cotton godown around 12 noon on Friday. At that moment, the fire spread to the party office of the Upazila Juba Sramik League.

Dhunat Fire Service and Civil Defense personnel reached the spot after receiving the news of the fire. With the help of local people, the fire brigade tried for about an hour and a half to bring the fire under control. The fire destroyed the godowns of two businesses and the party offices of the Upazila Juba Sramik League, causing a loss of about Tk 6 lakh.

Shamim Reza, in-charge of Dhunat Fire Service and Civil Defense, said the fire was brought under control with the help of locals after reaching the spot. The exact cause of the fire could not be ascertained. However, it is believed that the fire started from the cigarette fire.

AGM Badshah, mayor of Dhunat municipality and president of the Bazar Businessmen’s Association, said the fire site was immediately inspected. The fire damaged the Semipaka godown house and goods to the tune of Tk 6 lakh.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhunat Police Station Kripa Sindhu Bala said the fire brigade was reached after receiving the news of the fire.
