A court of Senior Judicial Magistrate in Bogura has granted 6-day remand in Bogura on Tuesday noon against an accused attacker in Police Station for snatching an arrestee from the hands of police few days back.
The accused was identified as Nuruzzaman Nuru, the chairman of Majhira union under Shajahanpur upazila and General Secretary of Swecchasebok League leader of Shajahanpur upazila unit in Bogura.
Mostafiz Hasan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Detective Branch (DB) said that the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Shoncita Islam granted the 3-day remand on arms case and 3-day remand for attacking the police station against the accused.
The court also granted 3-day remand each against 8 other accused of the same case after hearing in a crowded court, added the OC (DB).
The demanded accused were Saddam Hossain Robin, Romzan Ali, Saidur Rahman, Borhan Uddin, Sherajul Islam, Aminul Islam, Md. Mitul and Obayduzzaman Ratul who were the cohorts of the main accused Nuruzzaman.
Earlier, an addicted leader of Swecchasebok league named Mithun was arrested with sharp 2 Burmese knives by police on April 6 instant and following his arrest, the accused along with fellow men by around 50 motor bikes rushed to Shajahanpur police station for snatching the arrested Mithun.
They attacked on OC of the Police Station Shahidul Islam and injured 5 police personnel and later they took police on Dhaka-Bogura highway and later district police, DB, RAB personnel arrested the nine including the main accused Nuruzzaman with 2 pistols, 15 rounds ammunitions and seized 36 motor bikes.
