4 arrested by army while stealing iron in Rooppur power project

Army personnel arrested four teenagers while stealing iron from Ishwardi’sRuppur nuclear power plant on Friday night. The arrested have been sent to jail through the court on Saturday.

They were arrested from inside the Ruppur nuclear power plant. The arrested are Tamim Islam,18, of Burampurvillage, Raihan Uddin,20, Shubo Biswas, 18, and Sakib Pramanik,18, of Char Ruppur Biswas Para in Ishwardiupazila.

Concern officials said, 7-8 youths entered Rooppur nuclear power plant on the river route at night to steal iron.The arrested then started stealing various valuable materials used in the project as per their plan.Bangladesh army intelligence officers were able to arrest 4 people after realizing the incident.

Meanwhile, the remaining members of the juvenile gang fled.Later, the army handed over the arrested to Ruppur police outpost.

Raihan Parvez, in-charge of Ruppur police outpost, said that a case has been filed against the arrested accused with Ishwardi police station. They have been sent to jail through the court on Saturday.
