Three people were killed in clashes between two parties over a land dispute in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi. Seven others were injured. They have been admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

The clash took place in Yajpur village of Musrapara, Pakdi union of the upazila at around 9 am on Monday (July 10).
The deceased are Sohel Rana Choton (45) son of Zillur Rahman of Bhatapara area of Rajpara police station of Rajshahi city, Meher Ali (65) son of deceased Alimuddin of Baragachi Kanupara village of Godagari and his elder brother Naimul (70).

According to hospital sources, Naimul, Meher and Sohail were brought to the emergency department of the hospital around 12:20 pm today. At that time, the doctor on duty declared them dead. It was not immediately clear which of the three people were killed.
Police said that at least 10 people from both sides were injured in the clash. Among them Yunus (22), Md. Amu (22), Md. Raihan (35), Md. Monirul (45), Md. Soleman (50) and Rajab (31) are undergoing treatment in different wards. There are marks of injuries and stick injuries on their bodies. Aser Ali, in-charge of Godagari’s Kankanhat Police Investigation Center, said that they sent all the injured to Ramek Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Godagari police station Kamrul Islam said that in the morning, due to the dispute over the land, the two parties had an argument. At one point, both sides clashed. Several people were injured. 10 of them were rescued and sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. At that time, the doctors of the emergency department of the hospital declared the three dead.
The OC also said that Sohail Rana Chotan has 14 bighas of land in Yazpur Bill. Two brothers Meher Ali and Naimul cultivate the land. Ashiq Ali Chan of Pakdi village has been claiming those lands for some time. In the morning, Chan took his team and went to cultivate the land. When they tried to stop them, a clash broke out.
Ansur Rahman, the younger brother of the deceased Meher Ali and Naimul Ali, said that Ashiq Ali Chan had been claiming the lands as his own. He works in BMDA. He took Jalaluddin and his entourage as mercenaries to occupy the land. Jalal Uddin is a former member of Ward No. 3 of Pakri Union and the President of that Ward BNP. Jalaluddin himself led this attack. They beat the three to death on the spot. They also beat and injured those who went to rescue.
