District administration of Bogura arranged the 25^th March as Genocide Day through vibrant discussion at District Parishad Millenayantan in Bogura on Saturday afternoon.

The Deputy Commissioner of Bogura Md. Saiful Islam presided over the discussion while Member of Parliament (MP) of sadar constituency and General Secretary of district unit Awami league Ragebul Ahsan Ripu was present as the chief guest.

Speakers were President of district unit Awami league Mojibur Rahman Mojnu, Chief Executive of Zilla Parishad Ashraful Momin Khan, President of Bogura Press Club Mahamudul Alam Nayan, and noted freedom fighter of the district Ruhul Amin Bablu and others.

The speakers said that a party has been calling genocide of 1971 in a diverted way and misguiding about the number of martyrs in the liberation war too.

The country was liberated by chance and a vested group of anti-liberation people have no faith on freedom fighting, liberation and sovereignty, the speakers added.

They also added that they misled the international community to declare the 25^th March as genocide day in the liberation war as International Genocide Day but Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and Expatriates have been trying their best to get the declaration of the day as “The International Genocide Day”.

The speakers hoped that they achieved the Language Day of 1952 as International Mother Language Day and today or tomorrow, the international community will declare 25^th March as “The International Genocide Day”.
