Two people, including a woman, were killed and at least nine others were injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Sherpur Upazila of Bogura district on the Dhaka-Bogura highway under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.
The accident took place on Friday (July 15) around 3 pm at Ghoga Bridge area of Bhavanipur Union of Sherpur Upazila on the highway of the district.
Sherpur fire service station officer. Siddiqur Rahman said,” Two people, including a woman, died on the spot in a head-on collision between Dhaka-bound Naogaon Travels and Dhaka-bound Kaliakair Paribahan”.
“However, their names were not indentified.When 9 more people including children were injured, they were rescued and sent to the hospital” he added.
AKM Baniul Anam, in-charge of Highway Police Sherpur outpost, said ” The buses that were involved in the accident were recovered and the traffic flow was normalized.
“A case will be filed in the police station” he added.
