Detective Branch (DB) police of Bogura have arrested 2 Awami League leaders and accused of murder cases during countrywide July-August revolution from Adabar area in Dhaka on early Saturday.
The arrested accused were identified as former mayor of Kahaloo municipality and president of Kahaloo upazila unit Awami league Helal Uddin Kabiraj,60, and his son former upazila chairman of Kahaloo and vice-president of Kahaloo upazila Awami league unit Al Hasibul Hasan Shuruj Kabiraj, 42, both hail from Pallapara area under Kahaloo municipality in Bogura.
Iqbal Bahar, Officer-in-Charge (DB) police of Bogura said that acting on a tip-off, and on the direction of Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bogura Zedan Al Musa ppm, a team of DB team conducted drive at Adabar area in the capital and arrested Awami League leaders father Helal Uddin Kabiraj and his son Al Hasibul Hasan Shuruj Kabiraj from the same location.
Helal Uddin is an accused of five cases including murder cases and Shuruj is also an accused of four cases including murder cases during countrywide July-August Student and Public revolution in 2024 and lodged later, added the DB(OC).
DB (OC) also added that actually they are also the accused of at least 10 cases on murder and explosive act cases with Sadar and Kahaloo police station during the time which have been under trial and the arrested will be produced before court on Sunday morning.
